Graco King Airless Sprayers

What Are Graco King Airless Sprayers?

Graco King airless sprayers are professional single-component systems designed for high-pressure protective coating, waterproofing, fireproofing, and corrosion-control applications. The King family includes both air-powered and electric platforms, with configurations rated up to 7,250 psi and selected high-output air-powered models offering theoretical displacement up to 6.7 gpm at 60 cycles per minute. Actual spraying output depends on the coating, operating pressure, tip size, hose configuration, and system setup.

The King lineup includes Contractor King, King PC, King air-powered models, King E-Series and King E-Max XT electric sprayers. Depending on the configuration, these systems use Endurance, Endurance ProConnect or Xtreme pump lowers, with MaxLife options on selected models. Selected air-powered packages also support multi-gun operation. Bolair can help match the sprayer and package to your coating and production requirements.

Which King Line Is Right for Your Job?

Contractor King is designed for mobility and one-person crews, while standard air-powered King models offer a wider range of configurations for demanding production work. Selected King E-Series configurations are approved for hazardous locations. King E-Max XT provides an electric option for non-hazardous locations: the 40 model is rated to a maximum of 4,000 psi and 4.0 gpm, the 60 to 6,000 psi and 3.4 gpm, and the 70 to 7,250 psi and 2.9 gpm. These are model limits, not a guarantee of simultaneous maximum pressure and flow. The table compares four King lines; ask Bolair about King PC and other configurations.

What Do Air-Powered King Pump Ratios Mean?

For an air-powered King sprayer, the pump ratio describes the approximate relationship between inlet air pressure and fluid outlet pressure. A 70:1 pump supplied with 100 psi of air would theoretically produce about 7,000 psi of fluid pressure before operating losses. The permitted inlet air pressure and maximum fluid pressure depend on the model. The lowest-rated hose, gun or accessory also limits the spray system. This air-pressure calculation does not apply to electric King sprayers.

Which King Sprayer for Your Coating Material?

Select a King sprayer using the coating manufacturer’s required tip size, minimum atomization pressure, viscosity, solids content and target production rate. Coatings within the same generic family can have very different application requirements. Higher-ratio pumps provide more available fluid pressure, while larger-displacement, lower-ratio pumps generally provide more volume. Bolair can confirm a suitable configuration when provided with the coating product data sheet and expected hose and gun setup.

Selected Graco King configurations are rated to a maximum working pressure of 7,250 psi (500 bar). Ratings vary by model and package, so check the exact sprayer part number and the pressure rating of every hose, gun and accessory in the system.
Air-powered King, King PC and Contractor King sprayers require a properly sized compressed-air supply. Required CFM varies by model, inlet pressure and pump cycle rate, so compressor capacity must be determined from the model’s air-consumption chart at the intended production rate. King E-Series and King E-Max XT models use electric power and do not require an air compressor.
Standard air-powered King uses Xtreme lowers and offers a wider choice of pressure ratios, lower sizes, frames and packages, including options for higher-output and multi-gun work. Contractor King uses an Endurance lower and prioritizes mobility for one-person crews. Compare the weight, output and package specifications of the exact models you are considering.
Selected King configurations are approved for hazardous locations. An air-powered drive alone does not establish that the complete package is suitable. Selected King E50 and E60 configurations carry hazardous-location approvals; King E70 and King E-Max XT models are intended for non-hazardous locations. Check the exact sprayer, installed accessories and approval markings against the site requirements.
MaxLife is Graco’s enhanced piston-rod and cylinder option for selected Xtreme pump lowers. Graco states that MaxLife can provide up to six times longer service life than standard configurations under applicable operating conditions. Availability depends on lower size and sprayer part number.
The right King sprayer depends on the roof coating manufacturer’s required pressure, tip size and production rate. King E-Max XT offers electric configurations for roofing applications, while air-powered King models may suit jobs with an appropriate compressed-air supply. Bolair can review the coating data sheet and recommend a suitable sprayer, hose and gun package.
Graco King sprayers are covered by manufacturer warranties subject to the terms for the specific model and component. Coverage periods and exclusions can differ between the pump, drive and other parts. Refer to the warranty supplied with your sprayer or contact Bolair with the model and part number for the applicable terms.
